Thursday's Buzz

I took nap time off of cleaning and made this little Bee for Lucy.
I made the foxes for William and Ella and she has been asking me for her 'buzz bee' ever since. I just couldn't put it off any longer.

Isn't it cute? I must say I like it better than both of my foxes.

The pattern is from A Bit of Whimsy Dolls. It is super simple and fun to make.

I did make a few (minor) changes to the pattern though.
I added a layer of fleece to the front and back of the body so that I could 'stitch in the ditch' and 'quilt' it. I also ironed some interfacing to the wings so that they would stand up better and sewed them on prior to stitching front to back. I added the word 'buzz!' with my embroidery machine, the little heart to the front and also this cute little tag from Digistitches. I really like how it turned out.

I had a hard time deciding which color heart to put on her... and finally went with red. What would you have gone with?

Here's Ella holding the buzz bee- since Loose is still sleeping.
She's pretending to be sleeping like the bee is.

And here's the Buzz Bee with my cat... isn't he getting big! And his marks are starting to show up better too!

Now, I guess, I have to go outside with those crazy kids... it's actually a pretty day here in BFE.

And guess what else????
I (amazingly enough) won this contest that I posted on my blog!
Can you believe it... man, that is soooo coool!

I guess that means I'm gonna have to go get some more of those Blue Bell Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream bars!!!
