Birthday Crowns for the kiddos

My Mom bought us this awesome set of princess crowns (well.... actually she bought all the sets) and we made some up for Boo's birthday. I have to say, that out of all the things: puppets, softies, pillows, clothes, whatever that I've made them- these are one of their all time favorites. Ella, especially, has worn hers everyday since I made them. And they were fun to make, too!

They are made completely in the hoop and you put a layer of craft foam in between the stabilizer and the fabric- wow. I would have never thought of that and it actually worked REALLY well. When they're done sewing- they just pop right out! I am going to make one of these for everyone I know on their birthday. I can't wait to try out the other sets either- go check em out here.

They are not a quick project- but WELL worth the effort. The kids picked all their own fabrics, thread colors, and gems (except Lucy- she didn't care!) I also made Ella a bracelet- it's cool, too!

We added the gems... which were almost $10 whoa! from Hobby Lobby- but since it was Ella's birthday and she 'REALLY WANTED THEM!' We did it. Does anyone know of a cheaper place to get those things? Our Wal-Mart doesn't have them- unless I'm looking in the wrong spot. Although, for all the joy they've gotten from playing with them... I guess it's not that bad.

Here's about a zillion photos because I couldn't choose which ones I liked the best!

more birthday stuff tomorrow!
