A Marie dress two years in the making!

Do ever get a fabric that you're so in love with that you just can't bear to cut it up???

That happens to me all the time....
I don't know why I feel like it's so beautiful I can't use it- because then it will be gone, grown out of, food spilled on it... whatever.

I usually try to make something that will last forever...

that was how I felt about this adorable, soft, baby, cord that my Mom purchased for Ella when she was two and CRAZY about the Aristocats (particularly Marie)

Well... in the process of cleaning my sewing area, Ella came across it and begged me to make something out of it. Then I remembered that I had this adorable applique from Stitch on Time, so this outfit was born.

and I must say that I'm so glad I cut into this fabric even though I used all but a 8X4 inch square :(

I just love this outfit. Ella does, too. And she looks soooo beautiful wearing it.

Gotta love the bow, too! So cute.

the added ruffle

and these matching covered buttons

The pattern for the top is a basic a line by New Look- I just fully lined it instead of making facings and added a ruffle to the lining.
The pants are Easy Fit Pants by Carla C and I WILL NEVER USE ANY OTHER PATTERN FOR PANTS AGAIN!!!! It's wonderful!

Now available for tweens and adults, too! Wooo Hooo!

Still waiting, impatiently, for my embroidery hoop. Guess I should start on all those p.j's for the kids for Christmas!
