Dashing thru the days....

it's going by soooo fast.

I'm trying to slow down and enjoy the holidays. I want so badly to just make some cookies with the kids... but it's rush, rush, rush.
Yesterday was the worst.

*got William off to school
*went to the doctor for a raging sinus infection that won't go away... ugh.
*Wal-Mart to drop of prescriptions... need I say more???
*to William's school for Holiday party
*home for a few measly hours before Jerry's Christmas office party (which was a blast!)

I should have been working on other things, but I REALLY wanted a new skirt to wear. So... inspired by this post from Amanda I made the same skirt..... but
I'm a little bigger than Amanda- to say the least, so mine did not flatter me so much. I ended up chopping off the entire fold over part and just serging it. hahahhahahahha... no one my size needs extra padding around the middle.
I love the fabric, though. My Mom bought it for me from fabric.com and while ago and it's been aging in the closet. It is a slinky knit with little geometric flocking and it sparkles, too. The girls loved it! and I loved having something new to wear. It was refreshing to make something for me and for fun! Merry Christmas to me.

***niiiiice... see all the crap on the floor....***

We were at the holiday party until 9:30 last night and with the kids no less.
I was so happy to borrow these awesome elf accessories from our friends. William wore his vest again, the little elf hat, and the sweet elf shoes to complete his elf costume for today and I didn't have to make anything last night! Woooo Hoooo!

I have to tell you, William wasn't as thrilled with this no sew look as I was. Can you tell he's a little grumpy? He didn't want to wear the red and white striped shirt I wanted him to wear under the vest but insisted on this backwards green t-shirt.... he's so funny. I let him wear it, whatever. I don't care.

I had to shut down my shop today- I keep getting more orders and it's just not worth it. So, goodbye etsy store for a couple weeks- hello vacation. I just have three quick orders to send out and one more big order for my cousin and then I can finish up my holiday sewing.

If you're done with your projects and are looking for something charitable to do, check out this post on Kris's blog. The files are FREE, a-dor-able, cheap to make, and what a great idea! That's on my list now.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Your skirt looks nice. You looked very pretty. Nice clean floor. Maybe next time you can kick it out of the picture. William was probably grumpy from not getting enough sleep and of course that crappy costume. ha ha Hurry Hurry to Texas. Miss Kitty said to take your time- no rush.
