I'm back....

I've been in central Texas with some great people, making some really wonderful memories, but with REALLY slow, really annoying dial up.... so, no blogging, checking email, sewforum, or facebook for over a week... whew.

I'm at my Mom and Dad's now! Wooo Hooo! with laptops, fast internet, and the best donut store on the planet- that I'm about to run to.

But I thought I'd share some of the Christmas gifts that I was frantically finishing before I left town and couldn't share or I'd spoil the surprise.

First, these, cause I'm really hungry and I've been catching up on some of my favorite blogs this morning....

Easy, peasy, super simple, super useful covered mouse pads.
I made these for me (as a test),

my Mom,

my big brother,

and two of these for my Dad and my little brother,

These could not be any easier to do- or much cheaper.
(This is not my original idea, either, I saw some great ones on sewforum!)

Just get some old (like mine) or new (like the ones for my family) mouse pads with a fabric top- no glossy or shiny plastic mouse pads, some fabric scraps big enough to cover the pad, an iron, and some heavy duty wonder under.

*** Just a little hint, I used flannel on two of the mouse pads and it DID NOT work as well as the 100% cotton also... I used light weight sewable wonder under because that's what I had on hand- but you probably want to go with the heavy duty stuff!)

Just iron the wonder under to your scrap, lay the mouse pad on the paper backing and trace around, cut it out, peel off the paper backing and iron on. TA DA! New, beautiful, personalized mouse pad. I love it!
