Celebrating 100 days of school

William's 100th day of school was technically last Friday, but due to the snow day it was moved to today! Thank goodness! That gave me more time to get prepared.

You guys know I live for spirit days, right. I always have. I guess it reminds me of my glory days as a cheerleader.... sigh.... it was so fun! I was almost always voted 'most spirited' and loved it!

I think I've passed it on to William (Hooray) He always wants to do it up.
Last years 100th day celebration was pretty lame. 'Wear 100 pieces of candy on yourself'... I mean, who comes up with these things???

But check this years theme!
'Dress up like a 100 year old person'

So we needed:
*an ugly old man outfit- check
*glasses from the dollar store with the lenses popped out- check
*a cane- check (William's favorite part- it's the most like a weapon...)
*baby powder in his hair to make it grey- check
*and a really cool felt beard- that's where I come in

I used this tutorial for the basic shape and then made it my own by making the beard a little more rip van wrinklish and added some top stitching waves and curls.

I also used elastic instead of ties. I thought that would be easier for him to take it on and off without help.

Isn't he the cutest old man you've ever seen?

I will draw the winner of my give-a-way tonight at 8 P.M. and I will post the winner Saturday morning. Be sure to go comment on that post for a chance to win if you haven't already.

William is so damn cute. I wish I was there to give him an old man hug. I see you just put your sweater on him. Works. Love the beard.

He is the cutest thing, and I think the sweater tops it off. Good thinking on the beard as I'm sure that will be much easier for him to keep up with at school.

That it the cutest, funniest thing I've ever seen! What a lucky boy to have a mom that makes him these things.
