Lucy's Barbie dress

Well... it's not really Barbie, but I'm still going to call it that.

I've been dying to use this applique on something. I just fell in love with it at first sight. I love the colored version, too. I just have to think up something to put it on.

Once again, all of the fabrics came from my stash, but I know for sure that the hot pink and the print were remnants from Hobby Lobby. They have really cute knits, but I'm not crazy about the quality of them. They are really thin and curl up super bad when you're working with them.

Again, I used the Sienna dress pattern for this one with short sleeves and then added a double ruffle to the bottom so I didn't have to hem it.

So... I am so mean. I made Lucy go outside in the freezing cold to get these shots.
Poor baby.

Me: Smile Lucy.

L: I can't! I'm too cold.

Me: I know baby. Just smile three times and we'll go in and get hot cocoa and warm up under the heating blanket.

L: (laughing) okay Mommy.

and please Lucy... one more of your cute socks from the Target $ spot.

Now... you can rip your hair out, put on the dress you really like, curl up under the heated blanket and watch one of your beloved musicals.

my girl.

So cute! :) Glad she was a good sport-even if it took a movie, cocoa and warm blanket.

I have never sewn with knits. I guess I always thought they were hard to use. We don't have many fabric stores where I live so I get a lot of stuff from Hobby Lobby, Wal-Mart or somtimes Hancocks. Where do you get knits that you like?

LOL how cute, love that outfit. I went looking for some knits today and found nothing. I guess I will be buying online. Where to buy and what exactly buy is the question I have.
