Tuesday's Tips!

I get a LOT of questions about how to start testing designs and patterns!
I remember the first time I heard about testing... I was so intrigued and jealous. I wanted to do that, too!!!

Here are some tips on how I got started testing and how you can too.

*First- get out there.
Post your projects on sewing forums (I love sewforum), get on pattern review, post projects on YCMT, read other people's blogs, comment them, start your own blog.... start to make connections in the sewing/embroidering community... build a reputation for your work.

This is how I started getting asked to test designs- digitizers and designers saw my work and emailed me to test for them.

*If you don't get asked- ASK. Be bold. Go for it! The worst they can say is no.
I've always been rather outgoing, outspoken and all around outrageous.

I emailed some pattern makers, digitizers, and also YCMT to inquire about testing. I emailed them pictures of my work and sent links to my blog and ASKED to be considered.

It worked. It can work for you, too.

There are so many great opportunities if you just look and ask.
