More of the igrow pattern

so... the skirt I made for Ella's 5th birthday outfit is supposed to double as a strapless dress, too. How cute! I was so excited about that!

However... I guess Ella is too tall for that option. It isn't surprising considering that the pattern is sized 2-4 and not only did Ella just turn 5, but she is also on the tall side.

Here is her skirt worn as a dress:

woo wee! Even a little short for my taste.
So... I let Lucy try it.
Lucy is three and on the very small side of three.

The length was okay on Lucy, but it was a little big for her little chest measurement.

So.... I cut out another little skirt/dress with this pattern and added some little straps from this pattern. I also added about 1.5 to the length and came out with this little dress that Lucy LOVES!

My Mom made me a dress out of this rayon knit fabric a while ago and we never got the hem right for some reason. Lucy has been carrying around that old dress for ages, because she likes the feel of the fabric (which is heavenly). I decided it was time to cut it up and make something for her. Hence the terribly wrinkled, un-ironed dress... she would not wait for me to press it.

I am DEFINITELY going to make some more things out of this pattern! They are so quick and easy and comfy for the girls. They are exactly like the maternity skirts I used to wear all the time. EXACTLY. I keep calling them the maternity skirts... ha.

Check out me in my favorite maternity skirts. Best skirts EVER! I still wear them sometimes... te he he.

and lastly... these pictures are just too funny.
It reminds me of that scene in Austin Powers, when he's shooting the models. You're a tiger... Grrr... baby Grr.....

and... in BAD news:
My camera died yesterday. I don't know why. It just went to camera heaven.
I hope I have enough credit to get a new one... or else.... I don't know what.
I'll be really sad.

Love these skirts/dresses on your girls, they look so cute.

Any chance that your camera might still be under warranty? I don't know what brand you have, but Kodak has great customer service (even if it's not under warranty) for not much of anything!
