Little Bo Peep

If you've been reading my blog for a while, you know that I've been dying to make a Little Bo Peep costume for a while.

Neither one of my girls will go for it, but my niece..... well....
She is too little to argue, so I begged my sister in law to let me make her costume this year.

Isn't she just the cutest Bo Peep you've ever seen!

I was worried it wouldn't fit because the straight size one pattern I made ended up fitting Lucy pretty perfectly.
I shipped it to Alyssa thinking that she would probably have to ship it right back for Lucy to wear for Halloween (whether she liked it or not)... but it fit!!!

I used Simplicity 2571, the same one I used for Lucy's clown costume last year.

Which is WEIRD, because I made a size one last year, too, out of the same pattern and it's too small for Lucy this year.

I just LOVE this whole costume!

I'm not sure if my favorite part is the little pantaloons with the eyelet ruffles all around...

the sweet little lamb applique on the apron...

or the hat...

or this sweet little trick or treat bag I made to go with it...

I used this Storybook Little Bo Peep applique from Sewing for Sarah.

And then I jazzed it up with some buttons and ric rac and eyelet.

I used the fabric from the trick or treat bag to make bias to go all around the hem.

I wish you guys could see it in person. It is seriously so cute.

And a BIG thank you to Grandma for funding the eyelet lace- which was very expensive and out of my price range- without which I would not have had the chance to make this adorable costume. Thanks Mom!
