Simple Hello Kitty skirt

Well.... I heart Halloween so much that when it's over I scour the stores looking for all the clearance stuff- decorations, costumes, clothes, napkins, (cough cough) candy- everything.
I know. I must be one of the weird ones that wants more candy in the house after Halloween.... shrug..... accept it. I like candy. a LOT.

Anyways, this Hello Kitty t-shirt is one of my Target Clearance finds from last year. I think I picked this baby up for like $1.20! Score.

It's a size three, but thankfully VERY big cause even though I got it for Lucy, she says she doesn't like it. (rolling eyes) Whatever Lucy.

So I made a little skirt to match it for Boo's, since the child won't be caught dead in pants. The fabric was in my stash, but I'm pretty sure you can get it at JoAnn's.
They always have lots of Hello Kitty holiday prints.

Skirts like this are really easy to make. You don't even need a pattern. I just cut two rectangles about 27" wide and how long I wanted them to be. Then I just a lined the pattern a little, added a ruffle and some elastic. Easy. Breezy.

To complete the ensemble, add clearance shirt, cute boots from Aunt Sharon, and a new bow- Viola.

For this bow I used Digistitches little witch hats. I love how tiny they are!

Since the Rainbow Brite outfit, Ella thinks we need to have book props for every shoot. Isn't she cute?

I'm so glad she likes it. I hope the t-shirt still fits when she goes to school next year.

This year is all about building a wardrobe for Kindergarten. :D

Back to that pattern testing- I didn't get much accomplished yesterday and I have to go to the grocery store today. Ugh. chore. chore.

Oh man I wish I had a little girl to sew for still! I'm tempted to make ME a Hello Kitty Halloween skirt. ;)

I'm home from school today! woohoo! I might hit our "new" Joann's store! I have no moolah, but that's never stopped me before, haha!
