Another elephant outfit

My cousin's wife saw this outfit I made Grapes on my facebook page and asked me to re-create it for her little one.

Yea! fun, fun.... until I start looking for gray knit with no luck. I found some on fabric. com and then they emailed and said it was sold out, so they replaced it with some other that was.... well.... crap. I finally just bought some sweatshirt fleece for the bottom and ribbing for the top- which was warm and looked great... until she wore them for a while. They totally stretched out and would not stay up.
Any ideas how to fix that???

Here's the recreation:

Check the original post for all the pattern and embroidery information.

That's the thing about trying to make the same thing over... if you don't have the same fabrics, it makes it difficult.

I need to make some play clothes like this for my girls.... after my sister's wedding.

The bows are still my favorite part of this ensemble.

oh... and the hem on the pants. I was pretty excited about how that came out.

Who's with me? Who else gets excited over hems???

And speaking of excited... I get excited over seeing kids in my clothes.
Check these cuties out:

and Grapes in the original (minus pants cause it's Texas and it was HOT)

In sad news, I got my new machine back yesterday and played with it some last night... and I've decided to send it back. I like the big hoop, but over all I'm just not very happy with the embroidery unit.

I like the color. Stinks the pants didn't work

I'm not sure how long you have to make a decision on the machine, but if you can I think you should play with it for a while longer and maybe try to get some info from some yahoo groups. I have a Singer c-350 and I LOVE it. There was a pretty big learning curve and it took me a while to make friends with it. Once I got it all figured out though, I've been thrilled with it.

Just my two cents. ;)

I've been reading your blog for awhile and forgive me for not commenting on all the cuteness you have going on. Just wanted to say I really enjoy reading your blog and you make the cutest outfits for your girls, love the hair bows.

Did you make a fitted waste or did you add elastic?
