Kate Spade Knock-off

I just remembered that I forgot to post this.... oopsie.
Did you guys know that this one was mine?

This challenge was a 'Make it work!' moment for me- for sure.
I must admit, I'm not much of a thrifter and I felt thrown into an episode of Project Runway. (One of my favorite shows!)

It was fun to browse thru the old clothes and find inspiration in the fabrics and notions.

This is what I found that inspired me.

All together those garments cost $13, which I didn't think was all that cheap. I really probably could have made this dress cheaper without going to goodwill.
oh well...

My cousin had sent me this picture of a Kate Spade dress that she wanted me to re-create... but I told her I'd have to try it in tiny size first.

That's when I decided this knock-off would be perfect for this challenge.

Old or young, you can't go wrong with pockets like these.

There is a soft knit on top and warm sweater knit (from the GAP sweater) on the bottom- it's stylish, comfortable, and easy to care for. A must for any active kid!

The big offset bow and exposed zipper in the back make a big fashion statement!

Easy to make and easy to wear, this dress is a winner!

A HUGE thank you must go out to my niece Emma who did the modeling for me on Christmas Eve. I paid her ten bucks and definitely got my money's worth.
Isn't she the cutest thing... I love her little poses.

Thank you Ems.

I made this dress for Lucy and she actually really loves it, which surprised me with the dark colors. I think she likes it because it's so soft.

I like the pockets and the bow and that GREAT knit I got from Mom's sewing room!
