Baby Mac Gift set

I LOVE making baby gifts!
It was so fun to make this set for my cousin to gift.
It's for the same baby as this set I made for Judy to gift.
His momma, my little sister, and my cousin were collage roommates.

Kourtney wanted practical gifts with an owl theme and this is what I came up with.

I knew I wanted to use some of this adorable Riley Blake fabric for the big blanket!
I've been dying to get my hands on some of this.

I used flannel on one side and fleece on the other and then used some handmade bias to bind it with.

The search for a masculine owl was difficult... you guys know how much I love eyelashes on my designs... but I finally settled on this sleepy little guy.

I think he's so cute!

The name was made with this font by Lynnie Pinnie, but I just left out the fabric from the applique.

She also needed some receiving blankets. I make my blankets 45" square, so they are much bigger than the store bought ones.

I love how they look tied together with a little toy!

She also needed some burp rags.... every Mom needs burp rags!

I usually make my burp rags with one layer of flannel and one of terry cloth, but I decided to try something new.

I used this tutorial by Homemade by Jill and I just love how they turned out.

I love the fluffy little edges

and my little tags.

They are SUPER soft with two layers of flannel sandwiching a soft batting and super cute- I just hope they are absorbent, because I hate pretty things that aren't practical!

I wish it would stop raining around here.... I'm ready for summer!
