I got the boot!

So, I was kicked off of SYTYC last week. :(
The good news is that it was a close race and also that...

I could not feel any prouder of the work I did on it.
It was carefully planned and drafted and all of those stars and sequins were sewn on by hand.

Do you guys know how much I hate hand stitching?
I SUPER hate it.

The belt buckle even has tiny beads on top of the sequins that I stitched by hand.

I just think the royal blue satin binding is so pretty and the sparkles are so cute on Ella.

Mr. Cole especially likes this little apron. The Dallas Cowboys are his favorite team.

I like it, because I actually tried out for the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders when I was 19. It was one of the best experiences of my life. I am so glad that I tried out.
I could talk all day about that experience... but I'll spare you.

Ella's favorite part is the kangaroo pockets.
I must admit... I like those, too.

So, I know this sounds all Project Runway...
but I really do feel good about getting kicked off for something I love and I'm proud of and I stand behind.

It was so fun to be on SYTYC! It really pushed me to do things that I've been dreaming up, but never done. With the exception of the edible ice cream bowls, I'm pretty proud of what I put out there.

Thank you to everyone who supported me, encouraged me, and went to vote each week.
I really appreciate it.

Well, I, for one, would love to hear the story about trying out for the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. Great job on the apron...such beautiful details. I'm a new reader via the SYTYC site.

This apron was AMAZING!!!!! And I don't even like the Cowboys!!! ha ha! I was very sad to see that you didn't make it - it really was the BEST project and really captured the theme. So sorry!

Even with a household of 49ers fans (keeping hope alive!) I have to admit this apron is ADORABLE. I mean, really, really adorable. And what a cute sassy model, too!
