RED WEEK

This week is the Red Week challenge on SYTYC.
I got kicked off last week, so my project didn't make it onto the site, but I made this for it and thought I'd show it to you anyways.

It's a lunchbox that zips open and shut....

or used to before I broke it. :(

I had to get a separating zipper for the length, but then I guess I didn't sew it properly into the seam- so the zip came off. :(

I'm really sad because I think it's super cute and had plans of Ella using it for school next year.

I used this FREE embroidery file from ggdesigns for the front, drafted the pattern myself, made the bias for the outside, lined it with oilcloth, and got the houndstooth fabric from Wally World.

I really hope I don't give up on this design... because I'd really like to make some more of those lunchboxes.

This is actually the 2nd thing I made for Red Week... I'll have to work up the courage to show you guys the first thing. :)

That's adorable! If you would like some really cute and stylish zippers that you can mix and match, go to this site. She did a class at my sewing place, and you would have loved all of her projects. There are some that are more expensive that look like rhinestones, and oh well, you just have to look. The mix and match colors really look amazing in jackets, and she uses them for decoration on outfits also.
