Strawberry Shortcake dress

Just a little Strawberry Shortcake dress requested by my little cousin for her birthday party.

I wanted the Strawberry Shortcake fabric to be the star of the show, so I used Simplicity 4610 with that high empire waist.

Then I decided to add a ruffle for cuteness and for a little extra length.
I had the hardest time finding buttons that matched, but finally found these in a big pack of Christmas ones.

We paired it with leggings and a long sleeve shirt for the photo shoot... because it was freezing... but this little dress will look great in the summer by itself.

Add a little tag and a birthday bow! Happy Birthday Allie!

I had the hardest time finding Strawberry Shortcake fabric. This actually came out of my stash. Lucy picked it out for her birthday and I never got around to making it.... ooops.
But I do have some left to make her something.

Here's some funny shots of Ella freezing.

Can you tell I'm enjoying my subscription to Picnik?

This is really adorable! I was going to ask where you found the Strawberry Shortcake material until I read it was part of your stash. When I made Elisabeth's Strawberry Shortcake costume last Halloween, I had a TERRIBLE time finding some!! Your niece will love this dress!

I love picnik. The dress (and your daughter) is darling. You are so talented. Seriously. I made a very, very simple dress from a very simple pattern for my daughter yesterday. I almost cried. I'm hoping it gets better with've been sewing awhile, right? :)
