Go-team-go!

I get so excited when Becca puts the new appliques out!
But I don't think I've ever been as excited as when I saw this little cheerleader!

I knew I had to make something with it right away instead of just throwing it into a folder and forgetting about it.

Isn't she cute!!!
I just love her so much.
I put her on this All the Rage Raglan and I could not be happier with how it turned out.

Aside from the applique, {that had 20 steps and took an hour to stitch out} this was a very quick project!

I was worried about using the knit from Hobby Lobby for the middle part of the shirt, because it's pretty lightweight, but it worked surprisingly well.
And thank goodness, too, because I got several yards of it when it was on sale a few weeks ago.
Nope. Not this month. I'm still going strong on the No Fabric in April pledge!

It even looks good on the hems and top stitching.

The pink sleeves are made from the stretch jersey knit from Fabric.com and it's wonderful!!!! Really wonderful. I got a couple yards of it a few weeks ago when it was on sale and loved it so much, I went back for more! You should see my stack of beautiful knits! :)

I also made this little skirt (from the A+ skirt pattern) to go with the shirt, but then decided it looked stupid. And those pinks really do match in person... I don't know why they look like that?

And speaking of stupid.... check out Boo's faces....
What happened to my little model?

She's so funny!

We tried the shirt tucked into the skirt, too, but it still looked stupid.

So, we just styled the shirt with a pair of jeggings and we'll save this little skirt for something else.
It was REALLY easy to make. I just zig zagged some grossgrain ribbon to the bottom to mimic the applique cheerleading skirt.

I like the skirt, just not with this shirt.
I think I'm gonna make a little tank top to go with it, instead.

Then we'll have a bow to match both outfits.

I used Pickle Pie's megaphone hair pretty for the middle of this bow.
You know I love how it came out. If it's cheerleading, it's a winner!

Go team go!

Love that shirt. Love that applique. Skirts cute but I agree doesn't work with the shirt.
