Happy Birthday Baby Sophie!

I can't believe that my sweet niece Sophie is two today!
Holy crap... Kids grow up so fast.
and
this kid is growing up to LOVE Toy Story. It's all the craze right now.
But there is absolutely nothing you can buy this kid that she doesn't already have....
which is why it's so great to sew!

Hooray! Toy Story costumes for the Toy Story Crazed!

I started with Buzz Lightyear, which is her favorite, and just had to keep going.
You know how I get carried away...
but look at her!

I, mean, seriously... how cute is she? In those little purple boots (which are actually hand me downs of Lucy's)... to infinity and beyond!

I made it out of knit, because I had the right colors and every child and Momma loves knit.
I used the simply sweet pattern for the top and a circle skirt for the bottom.
I made the embroidery file for the bodice by combining some shapes and fonts from my machine.
My favorite part is the red and white bias on the sleeves!

Mom said she was really excited to open them.
I hate that I don't get to witness it, but my sister and Mom are so great about sending pictures.
Lucy wants me to make one for her, too.

The second one I made was the Jessie and I think it's my favorite.
I just LOVE all the small details~ the sequin trimmed, which I sewed by hand, the embroidered name, the leather on the waist, I just love it all.

I used the Dodie dress pattern for the bodice on this one and just winged the bottom.
I don't think Sophie could be any sweeter in this little dress. I just hope it wears well. I wasn't sure with the sequins and leather.

The last one was a DISASTER! The pattern is one of the worst I've ever seen. I really don't even think it's wearable. The instructions were so ridiculous. I had to do a lot of fancy fiddling to make it look this cute.
Sophie didn't seem to mind, but the fit is so poor (which I had figured would happen~ so I sent extra fabric so my Mom could chop the romper into a dress)

She still loves it and I guess two out of three isn't too bad.

I really hope my Mom can fix it to be functional. Cause I can see the little one getting mad if she can't wear the woody one.

And we don't want that... especially on her birthday.

I love you Sophie June. Happy Birthday sweet girl.

I can't decide if these are more adorable or more brilliant! What a genius adaptation of Toy Story! I wish I was 2 and you were my aunt... :)

OMGoodness! I just found this on Pinterest and am in love! I hate it when my girls love a character and everything is for boys. I need to start thinking out of the box a little more! Wonderful job!!

OMG I love the BUZZ dress. I would pay you to make one :) How much would you charge? It would be perfect for my daughters 2nd birthday outfit.
