Thank you so much to everyone who helped send charity items to my cousin for the Centers of Hope Medical Mission.
The kids and I had so much fun making these little baby toys to send.
I could have made many more if I didn't have three little helpers, but it made it so much more special.
Ella was on the embroidery machine.
William stuffed and hand sewed.
Lucy stuffed and gathered fabric and supplies... and played with the toys.
They each chose which toys they wanted to make and send.
Lucy picked a bunny and a tiger.
William chose a koala, a puppy dog and a ribbon taggie frog.
Ella chose a tiger, kitty cat lovie (like the ones I made Lucy) and a ribbon taggie bunny.
I couldn't help but think about my Granny while we were working on these charity gifts. My Granny loved giving to charity. She loved helping others. I remember going to deliver meals on wheels with her in the summertime when I was little. We laughed at my Granddaddy after her funeral when he found her checkbook and realized how much money she was dishing out to the church and different charities. It's something that's been ingrained in me from my parents and Grandparents as long as I can remember. To help others and teach your kids the same lesson.
I added a scrap of one of my Granny's nightgowns to the back of Ella's kitty lovie.
I'm a little sentimental like that.
I wish I could tell her how much the kids enjoyed doing this.
I wish she could see their smiles. I know she would be so proud.
I'm so proud of them.
And thank you so much to all of you who sent things to Terri Jo, also.
Look at these gifts that Diane sent from KY~ my Granny's hometown state!
Thank you so much Diane. You are so generous. I really appreciate your help.
I know Terri Jo does, too, and these sweet kids that will receive the gifts!
