I've had lots of questions about ruffling on the Brother 1034D, which comes with a ruffler attachment!
I've put together this little PDF file tutorial for you guys!
I hope it helps.
Hopefully, this will be the first of many downloadable patterns and tutorials.

Good going Nicole
Thanks so much! I love my serger but haven't tried any attachments yet. This looks faster than using my ruffler attachment on the sewing machine. Looking forward to trying it out!
Thanks Nicole! I have the same machine. I will have to give this a try!
Thanks Nicole for this great tute. One question: are you using just one needle?

Great tutorial with lots of pictures. I've done ruffles on my serger (same as yours) but I've not tried sewing the ruffle and the seam at the same time. Glad to see how you hold the upper fabric up a bit so you can watch how the ruffles are feeding. Nice job!
Thanks 'sew' much!

OMG for someone who just bought a 1034D I THANK YOU!!!
I have a silly question. I forgot to write down the original settings to do my overlock stitch (plain serge?) and was wondering if you had them. Ugh. ;)
After all of my years of sewing I have not had the urge for a serger...until now! Mainly I have wanted one for making knit shorts and dresses for the grandchildren, making pillowcases a lot faster, etc. After your tutorial there could be lots of good uses for one in my future. How did you decide on the BROTHER model. I have been looking at the Janome 3434D. Any idea on the comparison of the two? THANKS for any help!
